Table Mountain is over 260 million years old and is older than the Andes, the Alps, the Rocky Mountains and the Himalayas.
In 2012, Table Mountain was named as one of the world’s ‘New 7 Wonders of Nature’.
It is the only natural site on the planet to have a constellation of stars named after it. The constellation is called “Mensa”, which means ‘table’ in Latin.
Table Mountain is home to a rich bounty of fauna and flora and more than 70% of all the plants found on the mountain are endemic.
